Drop, Lock & Load - Week 37

Well, we are officially "full term" as of yesterday. Meaning, that if he was born today, he would make it without having to be incubated or kept at the hospital. On Monday, the doc said that he's not even close to being ready to come out (at least for this week). However, his head is in the "ready position" and is close to the light at the end of the tunnel, if you know what I mean. At the end of last week, I started to get these really intense pains down in my bladder area. I only noticed it when he was moving around.... which led me to conclude that it must be him pressing up against all those squished organs down there. The doc confirmed my suspicion that he has in fact "dropped". He is assuming the position. It's totally uncomfortable for me to sit for long periods (he gets squished too, I think) and there has been times when he's really gotten me good.

My poor bruised bladder...

This is my last week of work (thank god) and I have been busy training my replacement. It's been an eye opener for me to realize just how much my job entailed and how much I did. The poor girl that is replacing me has the big eyes.... she's not sure how she's going to remember all that stuff (luckily I created a manual for her - yes, I am manic... and crazy too). It will be a challenge for me to let go and not be worried come Monday when I don't have to come in to the office...

I have a feeling that will go away quickly though. *ah, sleep.....*

I look forward to the next couple of weeks of getting things ready around the house, sleeping, hanging out with my brother (who is here from Hawaii), playing with Penny, and trying to relax a little bit. That is, if he waits until the due date...

Ry and I are ready. We have checked off 99% of our list, I almost have our hospital bag packed, and most important: we are excited to be parents. We can't wait to meet the Lil'Dude and bring him home!
